Importance of Performance

Performance is an essential component to lessons.  It is also a scary aspect of the musical journey. Unfortunately there is no substitute to performing, we only get better by experiencing and practicing performance skills. Throughout the year there will be multiple performance opportunities for students to participate in, and though nerves play an important factor, it is a requirement that students participate in at least one even throughout the year. All performances are opportunities to share the musical journey with other students, as well as to celebrate all of your successes.

AnneyJMusic Performance Opportunities

Recitals

Throughout the year there are several recitals given. This coming year there will be separate piano/instrumental and voice recitals, as well as the themed end of the year recital. All recitals are free and open to the public, a collection is taken to help offset the costs of the performance space and the reception that follows.

Open Mic, Open House and Performance Workshops

There will be several events hosted at the studio to encourage performances in a comfortable and laid back setting. For open mic events students are encouraged to bring music from lessons, or try something new. For performance workshops, there will be a clear goal for the performance and an opportunity to receive feedback.

Notable Harmony Show Choir

This show choir is open to students 2nd grade - High School. The idea behind this group is to prepare students for show choirs at their various schools, while enhancing skills essential to the choral experience. Students will perform as a group with plenty of opportunities for solos and small group performances.
